Questions for School Nurses

Can anyone tell me how/what part the Texas Education Agency or any other states education agency applies to how school nurses operate? How much control if any they have over the nurses? Also, how does the school district figure into this equation as well as health departments for the individual states? I have looked in several places for answers and asked the school nurse that I am doing my rotation under but can't get any clear answers so if anyone can help or point me in the right direction to look I would appreciate it very much.

School nurses are in a very difficult position. Often what the state department states for education conflicts directly with The Nurse Practice Act. Therefore nurses need to read the state educational laws yet at the same time make sure they don't go against the nurse practice act. Sometimes this can create conflict with administrators.
