Just wondering if anyone that works for this health system (St. John's, specifically Providence Park - Novi) can give me any feedback on this new facility. I am considering applying for a few positions there - and know that it will be a brand new hospital - just wondering about benefits, shift differentials, if there is a weekend differential, pay (5 years experience), etc.
I am currently at U of M, and the benefits are great, pay is not so great - the only real reasons to stay there are the 403B Plan and being part of a union (with great patient ratios - but acuity is getting higher and higher!)
Thanks in advance for any feedback!

I am currently in the same boat. I recently started at the U of M and will more than likely leave. Wonderful Hospital but horrible pay. I am making $26/hr with 8 yrs experience! I know for a fact at Providence Park in Novi I would be at $32/hr. With all the expenses that come out of my check ($50 union due/month, $55 parking/month) I have to work a second job to survive. Yeah, yeah the retirement is great but making 6 more dollars elsewhere makes up for it plus some! I can basically put the money away myself. And the union.... you're basically nothing without seniority. Not good for someone just starting out in the system. I think St Johns benefits are pretty decent. I've been checking into them lately. I have gone to their website and have gotten some info (http://www.stjohn.org) I think that is where I'll end up. Close to home too! Let me know what you find out.

Hey! I am going to be a new grad here soon and was also considering Providence Park in Novi...I was wondering what the pay was there for a new grad and benefits that they may offer...I heard it was a great hospital :)

St. John's only is paying 1K yearly for tuition I hear, and that is a major factor to me! HFH pays 3K!!!
