I took NCLEX-RN last Friday and passed.
Actually I am unclear what I should do now. Please tell me about that.
Q1 I heard I will need to receive a letter from BON and a certificate. How long will I wait to receive those? ( New York state)
Q2 Are there any thing that I have to do? Just receive the letter and certificate?
Q3 I know one thing that I have to do. " Infection control" !! I gave BON a paper, "Form 1CE, so I don't need "Child abuse". I need to take a test for infection control and pass. I went to Job Fairs and got certificates (Infection control part 1 and 2) but 4 years ago (10/21/2010).... Is it possible to send to BON?
Q4 If I have to take Infection control certificate, I will use Nurse.com and I have to take a test. Is this test very difficult? How many questions? I can retest when I couldn't pass?

Congrats again :)
1- Depends on how backed up NYS BoN is; typically within a couple of weeks you will get a certificate of license (big, framing size). This is a one-time thing; in the future you will get just a paper that shows your new registration dates each time you renew. This is only sent once you have completed ALL critera for licensure.
2 -Not sure what you mean here.....did you submit everything you needed in order to receive a license, and JUST had to pass NCLEX? Or are they waiting on more from you before issuing license?
3-If I understand correctly, you have NOT submitted current IC certificate? Which would kinda answer #2; you cannot be issued a license UNTIL all criteria have been met. If what you have is 4 years old....it's too old. IC course must be done every four years. They don't want one from four years ago, they want a current one.
4-IC courses are quite easy (after all, every RN has to have this done every 4 years, so....not hard to find, take, pass! Really very basic infection control questions. These are done online, you take the quiz online (easy, honestly) and print out the completion certificate. THAT is what the BoN wants :)
Thank you!!
