Does anyone know of any bridge programs in the Orlando area? I almost have all of my prereqs finished, but my husband is being transfered to Orlando with his job, so I need to find a school to finish my degree. I would appreciate any help you guys could give me. Thanks in advance!

Donna,
The two major choices for LPN to RN in Orlando are going to be:
Seminole Community College in Lake Mary (Northest Orlando)
http://www.seminole.cc.fl.us/nursing/degreesdiplomas/
and
Valencia Community College in Orlando (West Campus)
http://www.valencia.cc.fl.us/asdegrees/current/LPNParamedicRN.pdf
I would recommend either of these programs as they are both excellent choices. There maybe others in Orlando, but not that I am familiar with.

Donna, I suggest Seminole Community College! I am currently enrolled in their LPN program due to bridge in May 2006. Go to their website and get phone #'s or email address and get their info. You need to attend a nursing orientation in order to qualify to apply to the program. Valencia has the same type of system. Americare is another one in this area who is planning to bridge LPN/RN. I don't believe they have started it yet. I chose SCC because the staff were so much more helpfull, courteous, freindly to me. I am 40 just going to college for the 1st time and had NO clue what to do. Valencia gave me a run around. Counselor did not even know they had the bridge program. They also cost more than SCC. I live closer to VCC but the aggravation I got from their staff was not very encouraging, I felt like the people I spoke with never had time to answer questions. I had finished my pre-reqs for RN transition so I will start bridge program immediately following my graduation as LPN this fall. All the professors I have been working for have been really interested in seeing everyone succeed.
Anyway make sure you verify that the pre-reqs you are currently taking will be accepted by either one of these programs. I have heard that alot of times out of state courses are not always transferable to our schools.....for the Nursing courses anyway.
