Hello to everyone...I love AN! This has always need a helpful resource for me and my nursing goals. I am a recent adn grad (dec 2010). I have been to one interview for an icu position that I didn't get a job offer for...I got a rejection e-mail...that really didn't suprise me because I felt I interviewed badly due to being nervous...it was the first job interview I had been to in a long time. I took what I learned from that interview and recently interviewed for med/surg and sn units positions...I felt this interview went well...I felt like myself...everyone was very friendly. My question is what happens after the interview? The interview progressed like this....I meet Friday with a recruitment coordinator and directly after I meet with 2 nurse managers...at the same time..the one nurse manager showed me around both units and then I meet with I believe were 2 charge nurses for what they called a peer interview. I was then taken to the human resources office where they said they didn't need anything from me...then showed the way out...so what happens now...I left the interview and directly put 3 thank you notes in the mail...does human resources have to check my information? Any insight in to this process would be greatly appreciated. I am very excited to hear something...

Most likely the nurse managers and charge nurses will meet and discuss what they liked/disliked. They probably have other people they still need to interview for the position and that can take some time. When all is said and done, if they want you for the position the NM will contact HR and they will offer you the position.
On a side note, it has been my experience that response time depends on how many positions are available. For instance, if there are multiple positions and they think you will be a good fit they may offer the job quickly. However if it is only one position that multiple people are interviewing for than it may be awhile.
Thank you for the reply :)
