Questions for a CNM

Hi! I've done a lot of research on CNMs and think it is a career I'd really like to persue! I just have a few questions that I would really like to know the answers to if there is a CNM out there willing to answer them for me! It would help a lot!

Okay I'll try to keep it simple! First I was wondering what level of college education you have to have. Also, do I have to go to women's houses to deliver or can it be in a hospital setting? And was it very difficult for you to find a job? Thank you so much!

I have a bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's of science in midwifery.

My first and only job so far was in the hospital setting. I recently moved to another state and am about to start a position where I'll be working both in a hospital and in a freestanding birth center. The majority of midwives in the United States work in hospitals, it's a common misunderstanding that midwives only attend home births.

I was offered a job by one of my clinical sites from school, because I got lucky and they had an opening right around the time I was graduating, and I had done my best to be a student that they would want to hire. Other classmates had a little more difficulty, but all were employed within 6 months (all those who wanted to. I had a couple classmates decide to continue working as staff nurses for various reasons).
