HI im a pre nursing student and just wondering how is the pay. Is it more if you work at a hospital setting clinic. Im interested in working for ob/gyn hospital or clinic doesnt matter. I just read a few post that a clinic in a hospital will pay more. Also I am getting my adn and do clinic hiring clinic managers with adn or bsn only thanks so much:D

Pay varies; you won't get any differentials at the clinic, and base rate will either be the same or lower, sometimes significantly lower. But you get more 'normal' hours and holidays off unlike at the hospital. Often the staffing will be better and thus less stress at the clinic too. ADN nurses can apply for the majority of the same entry level jobs that BSN can apply for.

Generally your not going to make as much b/c its a prime position, prime hours, no shift diffs, 0 weekends/holidays, etc.

Working in an office or clinic at a hospital, the pay is a lot less. Again as others have said you have day hours, more help, less stress and no weekends or holidays. The hours can be flexible.

Occasionally you can find clinic positions where the clinic is associated with a large hospital system. If so, the starting pay is often the same or similar for the nurses...same or similar contracts for salary and benefits etc. The nurses in the hospitals in those situations often have other career pathways within the acute care areas that will allow them to advance their pay rates beyond what the clinic nurses earn. The pay ultimately ends up being lopsided even tho it starts relatively equitable.
