What is the starting pay for new RNs? I live in Georgia and its about $21-23/hr. I just want to compare wages. How much did you start off with and what deparment did you start in

Starting pay for new grads in the Los Angeles area is $30 to $35 hourly.
In the San Francisco Bay area, starting pay can exceed $40 hourly.
San Diego area grads usually start at $28 to $32 per hour.
Of course, there are other parts of California, such as the Central Valley, Northern California, etc. Keep in mind that California is far more expensive than Georgia, although rents and house prices are falling.

As a CNA with experience I can tell you that I make about that an hour. I work in a hospital, but in the LTC facilities that's what an LVN/LPN would make. I'm unsure about what an RN would make.
Since you brought up wages in Georgia, can you give some information about your patient load? I'd like to hear about the patient to nurse ratio there.
