I'm not taking the program yet, but it looked like the program was tailored for RN-BSN or RN-Masters, not for non RNs. I think Stonybrook's BSN program is at Stonybrook itself, you have nonnursing bachelor's degree, you can apply for the accelerated program, when your preqs are finished.

Admission Requirements (Master of Science Degree Minimum of 45 Credits)
* Clinical Practice Portfolio Option (Master of Science Degree Minimum of 45 Credits)
Applicants to a master's program with a non-nursing bachelor's degree are eligible to submit a clinical practice portfolio to be evaluated for baccalaureate-level nursing competencies. If the portfolio does not meet academic standards, the student cannot matriculate.
I copied and pasted the above info. from their website, as one of the requirements for people (with non-nursing bachelor degrees) looking to pursue an online master's degree with them. Here's where I'm confused, I currently have a non-nursing bachelor's degree - so how would I be able to get a *clinical practice portfolio*?
Isn't this documented information based on your clinicals? - Isn't this usually the type of experience that you get with clinicals during a regular nursing aas or bsn program? Or do they mean that I must volunteer and create a clinical practice portfolio describing my experience within the clinical area that I volunteer at?
