Question re: CCCOnline Microbiology

Florida Community College of Jacksonville requires high school chemistry (at least a C), if not taken in high school then at least a C in college Chem. Our statistics at FCCJ show a direct link between the grades made in Chem to Micro. I thought students would do about as well as in A&P I&II, but the statistics say otherwise.

Yes. You need either general bio or, Pueblo Community Colege accepted A & P I & II and/or Chem. Different homeschools reaquire different things. Ask your school.

Did the college require a pre-req in order to enroll in microbiology?

You can always seek an "override" if you haven't had the exact pre-req course but have a sufficient background or a degree already.

That's what I did for A&P1 at ccconline this summer. I had a different biology course already and I am just finishing up chemistry as well. I called the distance ed. department of my "home school" and told them I need A&P1. They gave me an "override" and allowed me to enter into the course because of the other science courses I took, plus the fact that I have a bachelors degree in another field already.

Yes, that is the chemistry course I am just finishing up. Cool class. I had Paul Vordam as an instructor. If you need the books for the class, let me know. I have all three of the required texts.
