Question about me pursuing NURSING.?

Nursing Students General Students

Published

I am a 27yr old guy who spent 2 years doing perquisites to get into a bachelors nursing program. After getting into the program had to leave the school after a year because my GPA dropped . I got accepted at a diploma program but got Dismissed after 8months into the Program due to clinical failure(My fault- was unprepared 2 times).:crying2:

I am still persistent to get into a LPN (license practical nurse) program where they will give me 3 months advance placement in a 12 month course.

I need your help to let me figure out if nursing really is what i should do. I am a musician by profession currently.

Is the transition from LPN to RN a difficult one?:confused:

I don't care about BSN, just an RN would be ok.

PLEASE HELP.:uhoh3:

i would suggest taking the Interest Inventory Test, and see what comes up for you.....and are you trying to maintain your music career at the same time that you are going to school?

Not only would an interest inventory be helpful, you may want to consider what your learning style(s) is/ are.

I have provided a link that you may find helpful. If this site isn't for you, just type 'what is my learning style?' into Google.

Good luck

Can you please give me some insight of the transition of LPN to RN, i mean school wise?

Thanks.

School wise the transition from LPN to RN can be extremely demanding. You will most likely have to take an intensive transition course (often offered in the summer) to get you up to speed then you join the RN class. There, you get to partake in all the usual fun of nursing school. You will need to perform well in all areas: academics, lab, clinicals, and professional conduct.

Basically it is just like anything else. You have to apply yourself and manage your time well.
