No I ended up going the ADN route. There is a branch of VSU in our town and my plan was to get my ADN and then do my RN to BSN through VSU, but they closed the RN to BSN part due to lack of Participation so I am now trying to find an online program. VSU states they are going to be starting a online RN to BSN soon but they do not have a date yet. Sorry but I do not know about a tech college being able to transfer.
Thjanks for your reply..
I think Darton college in Albany is starting an online nursing program
GA Southern may have an online program also...
What school you went to for the ADN route? I hear VSU is supposed to have an accelerated program for the BSN
Yes, check with the school to be 100% sure. I'm taking science pre-req's at a state universisty, however, some of my classmates are taking science pre-req's at the nearby technical college (Micro, A&P I, II).
Ditto - I can't tell you how many horror stories w/scheduling and such that I've heard because people assumed a class would transfer over. That phone call will save you so much trouble...
You should be able to check the Registrar's webpage to see which classes transfer.
I took my science's at a technical college as a transient. I had the absolute BEST professors. My Chemistry instructor is my all time favorite teacher. I learned so much from him.
I loved the fact that they were on the quarter system. I was able to do twice as many classes in the same amount of time. I took my other classes at the university at the same time.

I went to Coastal Georgia Community College. I have looked into GA Southern's Online program. What is good about them is that they will accept my pre-req for valdosta's RN to BSN and I would not have to any more.

Has anyone ever taken science pre reqs like Human Anatomy or Micro Bio at a technical college and had then transferred to a 2 yr or 4 yr school in GA?
I am just curious b/c the science pre reqs I need are offered at a convenient time for me at a technical college
The school in question is accrediated by the following
Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097, 404-679-4501) to award Associate in Applied Technology degrees. Initial accreditation was granted in 1990, with reaffirmation of accreditation granted in 1995.
