Question about Nclex-RN exam in New Jersey

Published

Hi,

does anyone happen to know how long we have to wait after graduation till we can take the Nclex-RN in the state of New Jersey? I heard from some people that it is 5 weeks, and some others said 45 days.

also if you know a direct link to the information, it would be great.

Thank you :nuke:

I just graduated from a NJ nursing school. I don't know there is any specific time frame. You will get your ATT from Pearson once your school sends record of completion the the NJ BON. Of course, you have had to applied for licensure in NJ as well. NJ will match up your records and notify Pearson within few days of receiving the schools notification. Our paperwork was sent the day after graduation which was a Thursday and most of my classmates started receiving their ATT's from Pearson that Friday and Monday. Of course, from that point, you can schedule the exam for whenever you want, that's your decision.

Did your school notify NJ? Did you go for your fingerprinting yet? You can call them (NJ BON) or Pearson and find out the status. If Pearson had received anything, they will notify you almost instantaneously as long as you supplied them with an email address.

The number is 973-504-6430.

I agree, it really depends on when your school sends the letter to BON so that they can contact Pearson to issue the ATT. I graduated on the 13th, and had my ATT the next week, because my school sent the letters out pretty fast and I had already sent my application in for licensure. I did the NCLEX on Jan 15, but I could have really done it any time after I got my ATT.

Find out if your school has sent out the completion records first, then contact Pearson. Fingerprinting shouldnt affect your test date, only the issuance of your license.
