Our floor is switching to 12 hours, so my current 8 hour afternoon position is being eliminated. I’m going to switch to 12 hour midnights, but I was surprised to find out that the weekend (on our unit) is considered starting at 7pm on Saturday through 7:30am Monday. Every other unit in the hospital starts on 7pm Friday and ends on Sunday 7:30am. I also found out that our weekend differential starts at 2300 on Friday and ends 2300 on Sunday. So I’m trying to get an idea of what everyone else does.
