Nursing Students CNA/MA

For the skills like peri care, will my supplies be already arranged there for me or will I have to gather them? Also, any tips?

Thanks in advance,

Amanda

The supplies will probably be in the room (brief, wipes, barrier cream, etc.), but you will have to find them and arrange them yourself. They are usually in the nightstand, closet, or dresser. If you're not sure where they are, you can always ask the resident or another CNA for help locating them.

Don't be nervous for your test. I was expecting it to be the hardest thing I had ever done, it turned out being NOTHING to worry about. The examiners are people, too, and they WANT to pass you (as long as you are providing safe, competent care).

Two big things to remember that a lot people forget:

1. ALWAYS knock before entering the room

2. Good handwashing is required before AND after procedures

Good luck to you!

When I did my test the proctor had us grab 3 skills, then go into the supply room and pick our supplies, which we left in the room with her.

Good luck to you!

Wash hands, knock, introduce self, confirm patient name, ask permission, do skill, wash hands afterwards.

CoffeemateCNA summed it up well.

Thanks! I had to gather the supplies myself. But I passed! WOO HOO!
