At my school, the nursing program was allowed to manipulate the grading scale. I was wondering how common this is, if at all. You know the usual, 90-100 is an A and 80-90 is a B (or something like that) Well here's our grading scale:
91-100 = A
86-90 = B
80-85 = C
And of couse, you have to maintain a "C" average to pass. Their reasoning is that if you can pass the course with an 80 "c", technically a B, then your chances of passing the NCLEX are much greater. I do feel this is the reason that our passing rates are so good. What do you think? Is anyone else's school like this?
