Question about the Fashion and culture class

Published

I am taking this class online in November. I know I saw on these forums somewhere where you can view the syllabus before the class starts but I can't find it anywhere. Can someone tell me where that is? Are the 2 proctored exams on week 3 &5? Im debating whether or not to take a vacation day at work on the week of Thanksgving because that will be week 3 for me and I'd need the extra time to study and prepare. Also, are the exams open book or open notes??

When I took this class, the proctored exams were on week 3 and week 5. The exams were not open book and were challenging.

I found the mini syllabus... I went to the Mini-Syllabi: Academic Outreach Initiative RN-to-BSN Knowledge Center at Ohio University

look on the left side under Program links there is a link for mini syllabi. When you click on that, look in the middle of the page and it says:

Non-Nursing Courses Syllabi: Fall

It opens a PDF file and Culture and Fashion is listed there.

Good luck

Can someone who has taken this class give me some detailed information. I have a coworker interested in taking this class.

Thanks so much!!

I did not like this class. It was more like a cultural diversity class than a fashion class. The exams are proctored and detailed. You have to read the book and study to pass the exams. Having said all of that, I did get an A in the class. I also felt like this was better than taking the Modern Asia class to fulfill the cross cultural perspectives requirement.

I will also be taking this class in November. What do the assignments consist of? Essays? How in depth are the discussion board postings, and did they require citations/references?

I have been doing custom doll and fashion work for many years so I'm hoping that I'll actually find this class interesting. Though you just never know.
