Hi everyone,
I started filling out my career and goal statement for a residency I'm applying to, and now I'm completely blank. I think I'm worrying way to much about what to say, and that I might make it too short and not use the best words. I know I don't have a lot written, but this is what I have so far. Some guidance would be greatly appreciated!
How do you see your role as a nurse contributing to patient satisfaction?
Dedication, compassion and an eagerness to continuously learn are qualities in a nurse. Having these virtues in addition to critical thinking allows me to provide exceptional patient care continuously. One of the nurse's most important roles is that of a patient advocate.

let's start over. if you are talking to your grandmother (who has been around the block a few times), and she says, "tell me how a nurse contributes to making a patient more satisfied with the care s/he gets in the hospital," what do you say?
focus your thoughts on the patient's perceptions -- if you imagine yourself in that hospital bed, how does it feel? what does your nurse do that makes you feel safe, well-assessed, cared-for?
and use regular short english words, avoiding marketing language. show the reader you've given some thought to how you will make your patient's experience as good as possible. this question is not about you, it's about the patient experience.
Thank you so much! That helps out lots!
