i had decided to extend a contract. i happily signed it. then the hospital decided to make changes such as switch from night shift to day shift and have me float every unit as needed any time. i start this extension in a few weeks.
my contract did not specify if i worked day or night or how stable my schedule would be. i am unhappy with the scheduling changes. there is nothing in my contract about canceling. could i still cancel the contract? what would be the consequences? has anyone had a similar experience?
it's for med-surg and med-surg tele. i had spoken with the scheduling manager, she said she has no other options for me. she works on day shift only, i have never really spent much time with her. during the short time i interacted with her, i noticed a flat personality, a monotone voice of no concern for me, when i smile she frowns, no eye contact, etc. generally the administrative staff are not very friendly.
i am working on reaching my agency for this (they are closed for the weekend and holidays!). i left a few emails so far.
