in Nclex world if you have a 14 year old that needs surgery do both parents need to consent or just one parent. I put just one parent but I cant find the answer in any of my books. Any help. This was my last question and this is my second attempt at the nclex so I am curious of the answer.

well, i do know in the real world, only 1 parental guardian signature is required.
i would hope then, your answer is correct.
if not, dang, i can have a field day with this. :chuckle

It depends on what state you live in possibly.
I think though that a non-pregnant 14 yr old(under 18 year old) requires a parent or legal guardian to sign a consent for surgery. Pregnancy makes a girl able to sign her own consent is what I was told(but may be incorrect).
I think one signature is fine unless they are divorced and I can't go there since I have no idea.

since NCLEX is for all 50 states and 2 territories I believe the questions and answers need to be generic. I would say one parent.
Well I hope I got it right because I would love to pass. I did over 4000 practice questions when studying and I didnt see one thing on the nclex that I had studied so I am stressed out. I just want to be a good nurse.
The waiting is agony.
