Question about ABSN financial aid + future

Hello Everyone,

I have a question regarding financial aid for ABSN programs.

Do ABSN programs give out financial aid like how usual undergraudate programs do?

Fafsa gives out 6 years worth of financial aid. Assuming I have two years left our of the six, after graduating with my bachelors degree, would ABSN programs consider this for aid?

I was reading online that many people take out loans or are ineligible for grants/awards, which scares me since I've never taken out college loans!

I ask this because I'm not sure if I should just complete my remaining two years at UC Bekeley and go accelerated (deferred admissions until Spring 2016) or finish a traditional BSN.

Options

1. If I attend Berkeley to finish my degree that would take around less then 2 years + an accelerated nursing program. This would take 3.5- 4 years to complete both degrees.

2. If I do the traditional BSN route I would have to apply Fall 2016 to BSN programs and start Fall 2017. Then the nursing program itself would be 2-3 years. I'd be looking at 4-5 years for this option, but possibly getting all of my tuition payed.

Option one would be shorter in length and I'd be getting two degrees in less time.

I am so confused, but another reason why I'm considering staying at Berkeley is that my family's financial situation may change soon, and I was thinking perhaps I should just finish my Berkeley degree while I still qualify for it to be free!
