I am just curious about this. I have been in TPAPN for over 2.5 years now and I have never been selected for Quest Diagnostics options 4-6. I am wondering if they are just different urine panels or hair, nails, blood? Has anyone ever been selected for these?
Btw I have seen the Quest website and their HPPV panels I-VI, but I wasn't sure if this was referring to the options on the COC form.
Anybody ever try the methods described online for passing hair drug tests? The more I think about it and read, the more I'm sure they're going to try to spring one on me at some point.
I see 2 methods described online- one impossible since I'm a human female somewhat vain about my hair and don't want to bleach it and color it back since that would look like ***. I'm not really opposed to buying a super expensive shampoo, though, or even cutting it super short if I had to. I have FIVE years in this program, so plenty of time to think about options. The only thing I'd want to conceal are etoh and occasional small doses of Ambien which I'm not convinced would show up anyway- not MJ, opitates, benzos, or anything like that.
I appreciate your thoughts!
I’m sorry don’t think it will work. If you cathed the clean urine back into your bladder it would mix with the residual stuff there and on it’s way there. Also I’m sorry but these things are pretty sophisticated. I think it’s a recipe for disaster. I truly believe the only way to survive this is strict compliance
Agree that it would not work if I was a heavy drinker.... but I'm not! It's easy for me to go several days or longer without drinking. But I do like a glass of wine or two on Fri/Sat or on vacation, so it's only Monday tests that could be a problem- it would be an "emergency" measure.
It's the curtailing of my time off that makes me crazy! I never ever hurt anybody or came to work altered or diverted (and no one's claiming I did). It's just the $shakedown (described well in this forum). Who do they think they are?? I just can't let them win.
They've only asked for hair and urine. My 'contract' says they could do a breathalyzer if they wanted. No mention of a Peth, but that's a useful thought.
Wanted to post this in case it's useful for anyone else.
It’s definitely a shakedown no doubt about that. At the end of the day it’s risk / reward. If you feel the pleasure of a couple drinks is worth the risk of failing a test I guess you will drink. I don’t want to risk one more minute in this program than I absolutely need. I’m not spouting any of that recovery mantra garbage either. It’s just about surviving this mess
Thank you for your responses! You're a sane voice in this crazy ordeal.
I might decide that it's easier just to quit drinking than to go through all this trouble. For now I'm valuing the freedom to do what I want more than anything else. I look forward to other responses, too!
Your mention of an inpatient stay scared the crap out of me... I hope that never ever happens again and you get out of this quickly and quietly.
Cheers!

Cheers indeed in a while anyway

Can anybody say for sure if Quest (lab) option 1 panel is the same as Recovery Trek option 1 panel?
If you look up Quest option 1 (easy on their website), it does not include etoh, or etg, or anything about alcohol at all!
The woman who does the collection says that the monitoring program sends it to the most "sensitive lab" in the country... and that's Quest?? It's a Quest lab slip and she confirmed that it goes to Quest.
My "diagnosis" does not include etoh, they're just asking me to be abstinent because they're assholes!
