Hi, I have not been able to find a thread for Queens University ABSN program starting in the summer of 2020. I am wondering if others have applied/what their background is and if those who were in the program, how their experience was. Thank you and good luck.

There are tons near Queens! Probably a Google search would be your best bet but it is pricey just because of the area of the city you are in.

Hi, I haven’t had patient care experience in about 10 years. And I did home care while in undergrad. I haven’t worked in the medical field. I have been a Chemist for the past 6 years. 3.7 GPA for prereqs.
I graduated from uncc in december with a bachelors in biology and also spent all last month getting my CNA from a month long CNA program for some experience. I also was able to shadow some nurses in a hospital setting. My prereq GPA was a 3.7. Don’t get too discouraged! There is still time. I don’t know where you live but the CNA program that I did is in kannapolis and is called the Southern College of Health Sciences and is quick and cheap. You are able to get your CNA and get certified super fast.
I got accepted 2 days ago! I've been looking to see where admitted/current/former students post and came across this site. Is this the main site everyone uses to chat with others?
Also, I've researched a few apartments near Queens. Anyone looking for a roommate? 1 bedrooms are expensive (as to be expected) but there are some 2 bedroom 2 bathroom units that are much cheaper and close to campus! Please message me if you're interested!
Congrats to all who have been accepted! Any idea of Queens usual class size for their ABSN? Still haven't fully processed I got in, I was not expecting this haha.

Dont be so hard on yourself! I would suggest maybe getting your CNA and then working at the hospital or nursing home to get some experience or you could volunteer. I was waitlisted with a 3.56 pre-req with 2 pre-reqs in progress (human development and nutrition) I am 31 and have worked in healthcare since I was 19. I have been a CNA and have worked as a dental assistant since 2011...My life was far from figured out and thats OK! Your time will come!
