I have my Bachelor Degree and prereq classes from semester-based colleges but looking into a nursing program that has a quarter-based system.
Has anyone done this transfer of credits before?
Its Galen College in Cincinnati. I'm really hesitant about the quarter credit thing. After I complete my ADN I'm going to go for my BSN, probably back to a semester-based public college.
I dont want to waste my time and money and have credits not transfer but Cincinnati is really where I want to be but I'm not an Ohio resident so the community college wouldn't be too good of a shot for me. I know there is a health science college or hospital based but on the ACEN website says it's accredited but with conditions and a follow up. I don't want to risk graduating from a non-accredidated program.
Many advice would be great. Thank you!!

Generally there are few issues transferring between quarter and semester based systems. My prior degree and pre-reqs were at quarter-system based schools and I applied to nursing programs that were both semester and quarter-system based. I was offered admission at a semester-based school, but liked another program better and ended up attending a quarter-based program, but my credits would have transferred to the semester-based school with out issue.
Usually quarter/semester credit conversion policies somewhere on the schools admission page. If they don't have it posted you can contact and ask for their policies and/or conversion guide. It's not an uncommon occurrence for prospective students to need this information.

I transferred semester credits to a quarter system. I actually received 4.5 credits for 3 credit classes. The only issue I would see happening is if it were transferring in the opposite direction. You should be fine!
That's exactly my problem, I would most likely do an online RN-BSN through a state public university which are typically all semester-based. I feel like it may just complicate the process.

Did you find quarter-based classes more challenging since it is a shorter time frame? I know you don't take as many classes at once but it's still a lot packed into a short time
