QCC nursing

You may have already found your answers by now, but I would go up and speak to someone in the nursing dept. I know that they only count your first grade for A&P I, but am unsure if a withdrawal counts. I would suggest that you complete all of your other coursework, A&P II, micro, etc. before starting nursing. There have been so many people who bit off more than they could chew, and it ended up with a withdrawal or failure. In nursing 101, a failure most likely puts you out of the program as to repeat you must appeal and it seems that it's easer to win the lottery than to be allowed to repeat. As for the classes after 101, you may repeat 1, one time, but you are not guaranteed to be allowed to repeat in the following semester and may have to sit out a semester which will delay the whole process. Add to that a C- or worse in a 9 credit class and what that can do to your GPA.

Aside from all that - it's not as hard to get in as you would think, the hard part is staying in. Study the PAX-RN book, work on reading comprehension and the amount of time it takes you to read passages, I know that slowed some people down. They tell you to aim for a 110 I think? Don't give up hope if your score is a little lower. Good luck. It is a good program.

My gpa was about 3.95 pax was in the 130's
