Pysch Nursing vs Primary Care RN

Hello.. I am a "new grad" in a sense. I have been a Med/Surg nurse for a year now. I absolutely hate it where I work because we are so short staffed and it makes things so difficult. I work many hours and never have time for a break. Money is not a problem at this time if it is interferring with my sleep and eating pattern. However I love what I do... I wish I had more time to talk to my patients. I have a job offer for a Doctors office with great hours but my pay would be 16.50$ an hour. I also have a job offer in the same hospital but transferring to Pysch Nursing where I would make 25$ an hour. My benefits are execellent at the hospital. But this office job has wonderful hours: closed on holidays, weekends and inclement weather. I am stuck. I have a desire to do either but I am unsure which would be the best.. Please help!

Wow nice! What do you find most challenging about Pysch? And what do you love about it?

AN has a psychiatric nursing sub-forum, there are some interesting articles and answers to FAQs from experienced mental health nurses. You can find the sub-forum by looking at the top yellow banner under specialities.

Ok thank you!!
