I recall something similar for Scottsdale Community College. I saw this in today's local, once a week, newspaper.
In January 2006, an accelerated (18 month) ADN class of 40 students will begin. It appears they are increasing the student population by accelerating the program from 24 months to 18 months. It's a joint effort between PVCC and Scottsdale Healthcare. Half of the class is made up of Scottsdale Healthcare employees. The article provided this Scottsdale Healthcare phone #: (480) 882-6950 for information.

Kabin, was this one of the choices for our spring app's? I didn't see it on there, I wonder if they're adding it now or what?
I called yesterday and was told that there are 410 slots available for spring, but was told last week the number was 339, so I wonder if they're adding programs. Just like usual, we're the last to know.
That's a good question, I just don't know. The article said they were increasing students by changing from 24 months to 18 months so I get the feeling it was an existing program. But I'm only guessing. It's always tough to draw conclusions from the newspaper. I bet someone at Scottsdale Health Care could answer the question.
I tried calling but they closed at 4:30, I'll try again tomorrow. Thanks for the info.

Keli,
I think this was part of the Healthcare partnership with SH and SCC. The letter we received stated that there was going to be a combined partnership between SCC and PVCC with Scottsdale Healthcare. They chose 20 people from SCC and 20 from PV....

Mary, I'm pretty sure you're right, I went back and found that letter, I had forgotten it included PVCC. I've been calling a couple of people and keep getting different answers about the number of slots etc. One person told me there are 339 slots available, I counted them up and came up with 349, and two other people told me 410. The 349 was before Banner placement, but doesn't anyone know how many slots there are??? Also, trying to find out how many people still need to be placed is another problem. I called one department and they said they still have two openings which haven't been filled, even with the run on Tues. What gives? Hopefully something will open for me before Jan...
I know, it is so frustrating....I was going crazy this past Fall when there were still open seats at SCC and MCC that were never filled.......I would have gladly filled one of them!
