Hello to all...
I just received my acceptance letter to Prairie View (Fall 2007).... I am so excited!
Has anyone else received letters of acceptance to their program? I would love to find other classmates.
Also, is there anyone out there currently in the program or who just completed the program that can give me some pointers?
Thanks
I have a question, are there any up front fees that have to be paid soon after the application is turned in?
What do you mean? After the application is turned in, and you have already been accepted for admisison, the only thing I remember paying for was a background check. And you can pay for the semester in installments after registration.
Other than the background check and the other stuff they ask you for in the acceptance packet, there were not any other fees that I remember. At orientation, a lot of the students purchase their books. I'm not sure if your class will be buying the same books, but our books including the recommended books totaled about $800.00. I would buy the required books first, and buy the recommended books or study guides based on how you study or what you think you may NEED. I only bought the required books and I still did very well my first semester. Again, do what is going to be beneficial for you.
Thank you both of you. I asked this question because a fellow student said she heard that there was some sort of fee that had to be paid within two weeks of acceptance to the program.
I'm relieved, because it puzzled me that there would be such a fee that was not mentioned in the application. The amount this student mentioned would be difficult for many people to come up with just with a two-week notice.
HIYEE!!
I know this thread is old, but i just wanted to see how everyone is doing, and how everyones life has been once you made it out of school? How has you nursing carreer progressed so far?? im entering my first semster of pv nursing school in janurary so its exciting to know i will be treading the same road eveyone else has been on!
No finding a job wasnt easy..there's a BIG hiring freeze around the medical center but NS doesn't tell you that, you just have to be persistent and prayerful and it eventually will come. As for PV preparing me..yes and no..i'm learning more through on the job training and i'm still learning how to be a proficient nurse.
Best advice i can give you, when you get into semester 3 start applying for the psne programs the hospitals have..it will make getting a job easy down the line.
