Hi! I am seriously considering travel nursing.
However, I want to go back to school and get my BSN as well.
Has anyone done this successfully?
Is it possible to do travel assignments and stay on top of online classes?
Thanks for all your help!

Hi!
I am currently on a travel assignment and I am doing my BSN online..1 more semester and I will be done...It hasn't been anymore difficult for me than when I was at home..It makes no difference if I am sitting at my computer in Washington or Texas, its still my computer..For your BSN there is not a crazy amount of clinical requirements, so for the ones that are required(for me, a case management paper on a homeless family)..I just picked up a phone book and looked up shelters, easy enough...If you made it through your RN then your most likely dedicated enough to be able to complete your BSN online..
For me, I love it! I found I actually have learned more with my online studies, because in class I would get so bored I would zone out no matter how hard I tried..at least online when I get to that spot, I stop, and continue when I am able to focus!

I just started a travel assignment 2 weeks ago after not having worked in over a year since I had been a FT nurse practitioner student. I took a travel assignment while I am waiting to get approved to take my NP board exam. I am also a full time Doctorate of Nursing Practice student. I do class online and I fly from Cali to Miami once a month for 4 days of class. It can be done. It's very much worth it in the end. Good luck and I know you can do it!
