hello,
here is a link regarding tx law on public intoxication.

pelase note:
deferred adjudication
the judge may defer further proceedings without entering an adjudication of guilt and place you on probation for a period not to exceed 180 days. at the conclusion of the deferral period, if you present evidence that you complied with the requirements imposed by the court, the judge shall dismiss the p.i. complaint and note in the docket that there is not a final conviction. however, the arrest will still appear on your record.
there is no way the members of allnurses.com can answer your question as it applies to your case.
please refer to this thread regarding any type of criminal charges including reporting to the state board of nursing arrests of this nature:

does public intoxication show up on nursing criminal background checks?
i spent the night in a detox center, and i was free to leave in the morning if a parent came to pick me up. my dad paid a fine of $150.00. to my knowledge, this is comparable to a minor traffic violation, but i am scared it is going to show up on my record and screw up my chances of getting into school.
i have been researching online for answers, but i can't find anything that says public intox shows up on background checks in the state of texas. does anyone out there know the protocol for Tx?
please don't post mean-spirited responses. it was a mistake i made 3 years ago. i am serious about getting my education and i am a responsible adult. i am passionate about nursing and i have been working my butt off to be successful. i guess everyone makes mistakes. i just hope this one doesn't haunt me for life. =/
thanks
