Psychiatric Technician while pre nursing needing advice.

I'm nervous about starting my new job as a psych tech at Ben Taub and was wondering if it's the same as CNA/ caregiving. I have a lot of experience with helping ppl with mental illnesses.

Does this position experience a lot of violence? And does it matter since I'm planning on becoming an R. N.?

I know the interviewer said my patient ratio would be 4:1 so it's not as bad as it seems. IDK maybe it's my anxiety. I'm in my last prerequisite- BIO A&P and so far know I'm applying through Lonestar College for their ASN program.

If this doesnt pan out what other patient care work I can do with similar pay to nursing?
