hi guys, love to move to the states for a change, but not sure what to do or what to start with.
Will the NZ education and registeration easily accepted there?? -- i ve done the Bachelor of nursing (comprehensive nusing) and Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health, have almost 6 yr experience, incl: Geri, Adult Open and ICU , Children, Adolescent,

i'm a kiwi psych nurse too... just thought it might help if you call your self a nurse rather than a nuse...

Well, your NZ registration would not be accepted here -- you would have to apply for licensure in a US state (of your choice). That state will make a determination about whether your education is equivalent to US nursing education and, if so, then you can write the US licensure exam, the NCLEX-RN.

That's just the nursing "piece," though -- I have no idea what would be involved in the immigration/visa part, to be able to legally enter the US and be able to work here.
Currently, because of the bad economy, there aren't many nursing jobs available -- in fact, many US nurses are unemployed despite looking for a long time. This is not a good time to be thinking about coming to the US to work as an RN ...
