I just signed up for my 20th+ Legislative Day + will meet with my local legislators to get them to hear MY VOICE regarding healthcare + other PA legislation. Please join me at the State Capital building--wear comfortable shoes as cobblestone first floor a killer on legs!
Dr. Margarete Zalon attended Nursing Rally May 2001 in Philadelphia that I spearheaded with purpose to increase interest in nursing + nursing school enrollment... more than 10yrs later, think we definitely succeeded. In 2001, there were 3,500+ new grads; by 2010 -2015 over 7,000 new graduates/yr in PA (down 500 graduates from 7,629 who took NCLEX in 2012 height).
Thirty-five nurses signed up already to attend event. Great event for NURSING STUDENTS to gain contacts for nurse interviews, meet nursing leaders, and learn how to use influence public healthcare policy and learn political process.
PM me if attending. Anyone interested in carpooling from Philly area can contact me as I will be driving to Harrisburg that morning--usually takes 2hrs.
Don't forget to wear white lab coat to event!
