Hello,
I am a student at the University of North Florida located in Jacksonville, FL. I have been attending this insitution for 2 semesters, but I would like to find some people who are thinking about applying to the Nursing Program or are already in to connect with. I just would like to go through the journey with someone or maybe even find a mentor. I am a new mom and I am very ambitious, but at times I get tired and lose motivation. Anyone in the same boat?
I used to be a phenomal student and I would get high scores in high school, but towards the end of my high school year a lot of things changed and I veered off track. I joined the military and served for 4.5 years and took all my prerequisites for Nursing, but I did not work hard, just enough to make it out with mostly C's, some B's, and A's. I decided to seperate early due to some personal issues that I exprienced. I am married and was pregnant before I got out of the military. I started attening UNF at my 3rd trimester...I even went back to school a week after I delivered my baby. I was ambitious again, but that energy soon died down when the reality of mommyhood set in! After having my daughter (who was colic) I became so tired, stressed, and depressed. I didnt realize how hard I was pushing myself. Well, now I am so-what on track again and I am interested in the UNF Nursing program. I have to re-take a few classes to help my 2.6 GPA.
I have been on this helpful website for a while and decided to register and post this content to seek someone who could possibly be of any assistance. I guess I need a mentor or someone that I can connect with who has gone through something similar and has made it! I am having a tough time. Maybe I could even use and accountability partner that is going to start the program in Summer 14? Thank you in advance and God bless you!
I would love to be a nurse and be a blessing and that should be motivation enough, but at times my fears get in the way.

Its been a minute since I check my account. I read your message I admire your ability to go back to school to finish your degree. I lived in Jacksonville until Dec. I just move to daytona FL for nursing school. This will be the third semester in the nursing program. I just became a junior in the bachelor program. However, I don't have any kids, but what I can tell you from experience is that its a lot of work ....... Just stay focus girly, you will have your days were you wanna cry:cry:,sleep and scream:arghh: while in the nursing program. I am not telling you this to scare you off or change your mind about nursing. You have to believe that you can do it. Its crazy because I am trying to join the navy as a officer in the nursing program. I am working with my officer recruiter back in Jacksonville. Anyway I hope this help! I am always studying so you email me at [email protected].
Good luck!
p.s. my grammar suck! lol
