Progesterone and Estrogen, plz help!!

I found this site helpful. The estrogen in pregnancy prepares the breasts for milk production by increasing all of the working parts in size. After the baby is delivered, different hormones cause milk to be produced. Giving a new mom estrogen will decrease the release of prolactin which is the hormone stimulating milk production. Estrogen is used for growing tissue like breasts and the fetus.

estrogen crosses the placenta, so it can cause birth defects in the fetus, also it enters breast milk, so the infant could suffer possible effects from it. I assume the reasons for these effects are the basic adverse effects of normal usages such as edemas, lyte imbalances, hepatic problems, vomiting, pancreatitis. All of which could be harmful to the mother as well as the infant. Caution is always taken very seriously in pregancies.

And another thing... the milk won't be produced until a couple of days after the birth. Good luck.

I have no idea what 1969 is trying to say. When the placenta is fully developed, it produced progesterone and estrogen and both baby and mom get some. After the birth and expulsion of the placenta, the levels of Prog and Est plummet. Let's say the mom wants to prevent another pregnancy but wants to continue breastfeeding for a year, her doctor will prescribe a BC pill that has low levels of estrogen. High levels of estrogen effect the role of prolactin in milk production.
