  1. "Made Me Feel Like I Should Leave Nursing" This says a lot! Well Experienced Registered Nurses Don't Fool Around! They are basically telling you that LIVES ARE AT STAKE HERE! So if NURSING IS not for you, then drop it... or re-consider and reflect on how to and become and a better and safe STUDENT... then Pass your Boards and then look back! and Thank That Preceptor!
  2. Seriously, find a nursing job in San Francisco, in one of the top 5 big Hospitals in San Francisco. But let me tell you, it is ALSO dependent if your partner also happens to be an RN or is in the Tech Industry and is also working for one of the Giant Tech Companies in San Francisco, this can get you to own a House In San Francisco. AND On top of being able to afford a 1.2 million dollar house in SF. Rest assured you and your partner can still buy 2 houses, as a matter of fact, up to 4 houses in States such as Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, And Florida, as investments if you Both have a high paying job in San Francisco. Sounds impossible? Nope! The Bay Area Pays The Most When it Comes to Nursing Jobs or For Computer/Software Engineers. I’m drinking my diet Coke from a Vending Machine! Cheers!
  3. ? ... Most of the Preceptors simply roll their eyes and sigh! LOL
  4. When I was charge or on floor nursing. I just wanted to hear what's the most pertinent information that still needs to be executed or that were executed (meds/labs/procedures). The rest, I don't even bother and most of the time I just review the orders.
  5. 90 Year Old Female Pt. Giving Me A Wink! My procedure: I wink back at them. FTW! ?
  6. I had a patient and his name was "Jesus Christ" and his Father's Name was Gawd! We sedated him! Boom!
  7. Wait A Minute: The Word Pandemic -- is Global, No? Why Do I Have A Feeling That This Covid Only Pertains In The U.S. Are You All Missing Something? Cause I am not! There's this one member or poster here with a weird and off-balance mindset and his or her posts have been very disturbing. You all can figure this out! ?
  8. My point exactly! You just did it! ?✌️
  9. Although, I don’t have a transference or counter-transference like-attitude. But, we are judged by first impression. And it only takes 7 seconds, for one to judge someone. But I have proven them wrong. ? Anyway—— “Paired with a good scrubs. A man properly dressed for work....” ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ what a definition! I ordered one, simply because of this statement. I ended up not getting a Dansko. But the running shoes or sneakers has to go, at least, while I am making $$$$$$$. And yes, I am a Chef Thanks!
  10. You nailed it! If anything, are they meant or designed just for women?
  11. Hello Ladies and Gents, What is one’s opinion if you see a man wearing a Dansko shoes? I’m thinking of trying it out since I have been wearing running/sneaker shoes for the past so and so years now?
  12. Ratio at that time when I was in school was 35:5, Ladies Versus Gentlemen. I wasn't dating when I was in nursing school. But I had some memorable memories with some of my female study-buddies. Fun times!
  13. Never is a strong word. But, yeah, I was never late due to "oversleeping." However, I have come to work, and my co-workers would be like, "what are you doing here? You're not on the schedule."
  14. Uhmm I saw a whole bunch of impostors just this past Halloween!!! Should I be concerned about it? I think I'm obligated to call BON CHON?!?
  15. Test... Mic test... mic test! Where is test Mic? seems like the OP has gone AWOL.
  16. No need to report. To be honest, when I was a charge nurse of a 30 bed unit. I'd rather not take any report from any CN... cause they don't know half of whatever's going in with the patients!
  17. I hope this is a sci-fi story... I'm no HIPAA police. But this one makes me cringe! I'm Surprised... it's still active or open.
  18. Well, ladies and gents, I have attended a rehab and have been Facebook free for the last 9 months! My momma's so proud of me! Yasssss!!!!
  19. Oh My GERD..... forget NCLEX. What about Ectopic pregnancies, distortions, and even as simple as knowing if your patient is pregnant prior to med administration or getting films. I can name a whole lot more. If l&d or ob or peds isn't important.... I suppose the rest shouldn't be too. Sweet mother of hairless baby jessie... please give him or her some guidance!
  20. One thing I know for sure, kidney stones are painful as F. If the patient has no hx of tolerance to pain meds./narcotics, please provide them the appropriate dose. A pain level of 8 is usually considered as severe so give them what is appropriate and you being a deligent and prudent nurse will be and should be assessing the pt's v/s, s&s (subjective and objective) and pain medication effectiveness before and/or after med. administration. However, if you do have a policy about pain medication administration, probable but highly improbable, follow that or simply follow the attending doctor's parameters or orders.
  21. 103 year old lady asking me out for a date lol... Mentioned this here in the past. But this is something I'll never ever be able to forget.
  22. I wonder if all the findings/results of the ailments you mentioned were positive or negative. If they were all negative, has your doctor suggested a psych consult? As we all know, stress can play a major factor on physical ailments.
  23. Well, that's a bummer. If I may ask, what planet do you live in?
