  2. hi, those are all great ideas. if he finished school, he probably has a stethoscope. good shoes or solid color scrubs. can't go wrong with either. ~congrats to you on starting school!~
  3. Absolutely, LET'S GO HEAT!! That's why I am still up!
  4. i love this thread... glass syringes, glass iv bottles, labeling bags with tape, piggybacking iv bags with a needle, carrying around bottles of kcl to make up our own bags, aminophylline drips, croup tents, wearing my cap. i had a md take my chair from me (and i was about 7 months pregnant). i remember when gloves started to be used. did rounds on "wards". took 2 day long boards with paper and pencil and had to wait 2 months for results (i was pregnant when i took them and had a newborn when i got results). days before hippa, and paperwork was hung on the door. i had an enema when i was having my oldest ds. i am sure that i am forgetting something, but i will post if i recall.

  11. Hi There, Watching a family member die from cancer is entirely different than being a nurse. There are things that I do every day as a Peds nurse that I couldn't do to my kids...or watch be done to my kids. It is perfectly normal. Try not to be too hard on yourself. HUGS TO YOU!!!:icon_hug: :flowersfo
  12. Hi There, You should be fine. You didn't get splashed. However, there should be a sign posted for chemo precautions. We always have to have them up for 72 hours post chemo. Perhaps you could bring that up to the charge nurse.
  13. hi, when i did hh, i got 1 day. i think, if you are not right out of school, they think that you can handle it. good luck!!
  14. hi there, glad you stopped by. all of these suggestions are great. i would also suggest talking to your guidance counselor. there can be a long wait for nursing school. are you eligible for a bright futures scholarship?? if you do qualify, and want to go for your bsn...do it. you can never have too much education. good luck!!!!
  15. [evil]boo to trampolines!![/evil] they are evil!! lots of broken bones, serious sprains, head injuries, wounds from slipping between the trampoline and the frame. even with a net and supervision these things occur. they are evil:angryfire :angryfire .
  16. woo-hoo!!! that is awesome!
  17. Hi There, Well, I can only speak from personal experience. I am a 3 C-section mom and all were term and went to well baby. They were actually HUGE. 2nd was breech. 3rd was transverse. Thank God, they were all fine.
  18. that is great news!!!!
  19. Hi, I have NEVER mixed in heparin to give back blood. Is this a policy at your facility? We never give back either, unless it is specifically ordered. Usually only for the Hem-Onc kids.
  20. Uh-Oh:angryfire !!! That is bad news. This needs to go to DON immediately, with a demand for action. Suspicious narcotic counts, strange behavior. Get her out of there quick. I don't know how to get BON involved, but they need to be. I've seen the feds walk on a floor and arrest a nurse!!!
  21. congratulations!!!!!
  22. congratulations!!!! that is awesome!!!
  23. Hi, At least that decision is over. Finish up your time and move on. Now you know to trust your instincts. Good Luck & Take care!!!
