Too sensitive to become a Nurse?
I'm just wondering if I'm too sensitive to become a nurse even though I've completed the prereq. A&P I and A&P II classes for nursing and currently have a 4.0. Recently, my father-in-law was diagnosed with liver cancer and I watched him deteriorate for months until his death just a few days ago. I didn't handle the situation as well as I thought I would since the whole experience has brought on anxiety and depression to the point that I may need counseling. Although I have the desire to become a nurse and am doing very well in my classes, I'm questioning my mental stability to handle such situations. I keep thinking that maybe I didn't handle things well because it was a family member and perhaps it would be different or easier to handle if I didn't know the person personally. Has anyone had a similar experience and any advice on whether I should continue to pursue nursing as a career? Thank you

Nursing Dipolma vs. BSN
Wondering if anyone can shed some light on this topic? I currently have a Bachelor's degree in Business and after looking into both Nursing Schools that offer diplomas and colleges/Universities that offer a BSN, I am confused on which would be the best choice for someone who already has a college degree and would like to become an RN . Any info or guidance would be appreciated! Thanks! :)

Thank you for the information regarding the pre-nursing chemistry thread. I haven't taken chemistry yet (not since High School) but when I do, I'll be sure to visit the forum. Best of luck to you! Remember despite all the stress, it will be all worth it in the end :) Being a nurse is so rewarding! Thanks again!

New PreNursing Student - Question regarding the Chemistry Forum
Hi Everyone, I just started a prenursing program as a career change. Used to be in Human Resource Management but decided it was not rewarding enough. I'm a little intimidated by the science and chemistry classes since it has been many years since I had taken science in high school. I'm hoping to take some chemistry tutoring classes. Has anyone been on the Chemistry Forum here on Allnurses.com? Wondering how helpful it is? Thanks! :)
