  1. I would suggest taking a couple nursing courses allowed in your program. Im taking pathophysiology and medical terminology it has helped me prepare how the exams are set up and i took health assessment this summer.
  2. i will be starting in jan 2014 my clinical sequence for my first semester already have taken health assessment, now currently taking med terminology, patho and im so happy i did. It is adjusting how i study for exams and i will say this.. PAY ATTENTION TO COURSE GUIDES. my pathophysiology instructor informed me through email it is the best study method for nursing school. Im glad i listened because not only am i doing better with the select all the apply tests but overall i have B in the class so far:) its hard work
  3. Thank you for the post. I will be starting my clinical sequence in the Spring. I am currently taking nursing courses now and yes the exams are very different. Health Assessment definitely opened my eyes to the life of a nursing student. I am now more prepared because i am taking my pre reqs/first semester nursing classes already. Good luck to everyone
  4. @Tiffanyle I was in the Air Force. yes and thats exactly what i am doing now. hard work will pay off i know it. Thats great to hear haha m-16 shooting range with rejection letter sound like fun. Well keep working hard and finishing out strong i know i will continue doing so.
  5. Thank you i really needed to hear this. i just applied first time to nursing school and was rejected. i am still working on finishing my pre reqs in spring and taking patho in fall. i will be applying again in the fall. I will take your advice and hopefully i get lucky the second time around. Good luck and congrats to you
  6. I jut received my first rejection letter it wasnt because i didnt have the grades the nursing school did not do academic forgiveness and calculated the classes i took in 2006 when i first got out high school with the gpa i have now. Lets say i was pretty bummed out and felt i let myself down. I did speak with admission committee and she informed me i was only 1pt from being accepted. She also encouraged me to reapply in the fall and good luck. I am still finishing up my pre reqs and this just encouraged me to work harder than ever. I know the hard work will pay off and the positive thing is i am able to take patho in the fall as a full semester class before nursing school if i get accepted in the spring. They do encourage their prospective student to take this because you do better in clincials and nursing school. I would just keep trying because it gives you the ambition and drive to work harder than ever. Trust me i know this is my first one but it hurt because i worked so hard to bring my gpa up to 3.0 when i returned college after miltary in 2010 and the grades i have i will have 3.5 gpa cumm if i keep it up. Believe in yourself and strive for greatness :) good luck and look at it as a way to prove to yourself or anyone you can get in!!!
  7. Im going straight for my BSN only because after my BSN im going for my Masters in Nursing to become Nurse practioner.
  8. im in same boat i have couple weeks to wait our deadline march 15th. Good luck guys!!
  9. same here im still waiting i get nervous every week i go check my mail lol trying to stay positive and classes are keeping me busy too
  10. Yes i am in the same boat as everyone our letters wont go out til mid March and it will take 4-6wks. Good luck everyone just focus on your classes you are currently taking now.
  11. I am also waiting on my letter our deadline at our BSN program in March 15. I sent mine in Feb 4. I will know end April beginning of May 2013. Good luck everyone for Fall 2013
  12. Yes good luck to you!! I will be taking ap 2 and micro in spring also and will be applying to the bsn program for the fall.
  13. Yes!!! i would recommend Troy Montgomery or Troy University for nursing i have only 2 semesters left before i apply in spring for bsn program. Good luck is a great college
  14. Well i am kinda of the same path you are currently on. I had good gpa when i was in high school so when i went to troy after high school i messed around and wasnt serious. I went to air force and came back after i got out with 30 college credits, but i had to boost my gpa cummulative from 1.9 so all i had to do was go school get good grades and now im back to 3.0 gpa cummulative in a year of college. So, no its not impossible but it is hard work to bring your gpa back up high. I am also pursuing my bsn and goin to med school for crna so good luck and keep focus and you can do it :) thats what i tell myself every semester. Hope it helps
