  1. Some cheese with that??? I graduated almost a year ago and in my graduating class of 52 there's not ONE single nurse not working that wants to work. Not one. I personally sent out four resumes when I passed the NCLEX and received three offers within two weeks with ZERO healthcare experience. So your "many, many new grads" assumption is false. Maybe take a look at your resume or polish your interviewing skills before making blanket statements. Good luck...
  2. Until you hear it first person stay out of it...
  3. I'm interested in MSN in Informatics... What exactly do you do and how's the pay??? I'm a RN/BSN working a med/surg floor currently but interested in a change and my employer will pay for my degree...
  4. Sounds to me like you need to just mind your business and just concern yourself with getting through school...
  5. I never read... Not once... I did however go to every single lecture and take pages and pages of notes... Whatever works for you...
  6. Kaplan Qbank... That's all I did to prepare... 50-100 questions, 5 days a week, 75 questions and passed... Just my two cents...
  7. Gotta go with 1...
  8. Yes, by all means, begin a job based on a lie... Why is this even a question??? Of course, tell the truth.

Kaplan Qbank... I did about 50-100 questions five days a week for about six weeks... Passed with 75 questions and 49 minutes... The school wife passed in 150 minutes, 80 questions and we studied the same way... IMO all you need to do are questions, all these test prep classes are a waste of money...
  10. Well they can't really "require" that you take an external prep class now can they??? They can recommend it or offer partial compensation but they can't require it... If they want to keep their stats nice and high just educate their students well rather than try and force them to shell out $500 for a prep class... I found the Qbank ($40) worked just fine...
  11. Caffine...5 hour energy and learing to live on 4-6 hours a night...Your body gets used to it...We can rest when we graduate...
  12. It is doable...But it certainly isn't easy...
  13. 1st block student here... 3 weeks in and I'm regretting 25 hrs a week... Maybe I'll get used to it, but it's a grind... Organization is key...
  14. I just bought the newest edition and included is a year free of online access and updates... FYI...
  15. I wouldn't think it would matter...
  16. They of course required our entire transcripts but during the "interview" they only focused on the GPA from our pre reqs...
  17. To be specific...NAU "looks" at your overall transcript but is really only interested in your pre req GPA...
  18. Northern Arizona University goes by pre req GPA...
  19. Great post...Thanks for sharing...I'm starting my BSN program in two weeks and this helped...Let the games begin!
  20. The list price of the required texts at my bookstore was $1100 for first block...I got everything I needed for about $500...And only one book was an older edition (MedSurg)...Shopping around pays off...
  21. It's something school's are doing now to keep us from using cheaper textbook "services"...Half, Chegg, Amazon, etc... They require "their" textbook...Don't fall for it, buy the cheaper one, you'll be fine...My patho professor told me I'd have a tough time keeping up with assignments using an oler edition (one year older) but she was very very wrong...They add a few pages and swap some pictures around and call it a new version!!!!
