A work collegue just signed with a apt with 2bed 2 bath washer dryer in unit for 2300. 3ved in Berkeley is not a bargain. We had a look on zillows last night plenty of 2 bed 2 bath with under 2e00 rent. Id say use google and research ur oprions
  2. I dont think anyone really reads nurse charting...they only really read if 'somerhing ' happens. Ie an unsavory pr outcome. So one charts as is there is an unsavory outcomw...all the time. 8
  3. Could someone please explain to me exactly what is a "sarcastic sense of humor"?????? Maybe I need to get out more, but personally I don't think 'sarcastic' and 'sense of humor' should be used in the same sentence especially in front of patients and relatives. There are more appropriates times for one to be sarcastically humorous and whilst receiving a handover report is not one of them.
  4. i had a semi summer off, worked only two days. 1st semester of NS starts next week and i am dreading and anticipating the stress already. our NS is bases on two semesters a year so i will gladly take a summer off next year...and come whine about it come fall!!!!
  5. Man is spending much time in bed and may want to know why. Psychiatric symptoms? Little or no English that needs addressing. Otherwise, one cant assess him holistically.
  6. i am sure this thread will become VERY useful in the very near future!
  7. if i were you i would wait to buy until AFTER your school orientation. we may tell you what to buy but may not be needed by your program. so hang on to your money and wait...
  8. filofax.com best planner EVER, pricey but they last years and years. all you have to do is order refills every nov. they make some that can be wallet and planner (two for the price of one!!!)
  9. i start my BSN on the 24th of August. i am terrified, anxious, overwhelmed BUT excited!!!!
  10. international copies from my experience were exactly like the bookstore version only cheaper. i would have purchased my NS books international but after searching the ones required are not available in international copies *sigh*
  11. there is no "easy way out" when it comes top studying. you have to find your own rhythm and consider what your teacher state you NEED TO KNOW. before class, i would skim through the chapters, read what i feel is important. if the whole chapter seems important than read ALL of it. dont be overwhelmed, the teachers would like you to be familiar with content before class...its not like you will be given an exam on the first day!!! read a little of all your assigned readings, so on the first day the teacher does not appear like they are talking in swahili...
  12. in class all i need is a pen and paper...maybe the text book if the teacher in questions refers to text a lot. otherwise i normally do not bring textbook to class unless i plan to study after class. i bought a 14" laptop, coz the 17" i had was too cumbersome to carry around with me. i will upload my ebooks and will mostly use the ebooks as a quick reference. to study i know i will use the catual book...i am old fashioned like that! personally i think ipod, ipad, etc are great gadets to have not necessary but am sure i shall find my smaller laptop indespensible.
  13. i start my first semester of BSN on 24th August. Monday - health assessment Lab (2hrs:50mins) Tuesday - Clinical which starts on 09/28 (7am-4pm) Wednesday - Nursing skills Lab (1hr:50mins) & Health Assessment (2hrs:40mins) Thursday - Nursing skills lab (4hrs) Friday - Foundation in Nursing Theory (3hrs) & Pharmacology (2hrs:50mins)
  14. poor you! and i thot my commute was bad! i live about 30mins away with no traffic which really not bad but parking is a killer at our uni. i am loss what to do, i like the convenience of having my car nearby will see how terrible parking is when the semester starts...
  15. thot i would update y'all...well i got accepted into 2 CSUs and 1 CC
  16. starting BSN on the 23rd! i also plan to work...i work as a living caregiver to the elderly. i have always worked thruout my pre reqs, my social life does suffer, but i tell my friends to hang in there with me. so far they have been understanding...but it can get pretty isolative so be warned. if you the type that likes to hang out with your friends then i would suggest u resign!!! if my work does interfere with my school work i will not hesitate to resign, mind you my work is very easy. my current client is very understanding and she sleeps most of the daytime and at nite she sleeps all the way thru. so if i stay with her i think i can do it. there is wifi so i could get a lot done during my two days i spend with her... good luck!
  17. LOOOOLEST! makes u wonder what exactly have i gotten myself into
  18. bought a digital recorder for $60 a year ago... i recorded lectures but soon found out that listening back was not my cuppa tea concentrating well in class and taking my own good notes worked well for me

  21. so that nurse can keep observe patient more closely since the patient is postoperative i would feel more comfortable observing these symptoms myself. when patient has been moved to the nearby room and i become thats only when i would delegate the observation to a cna.
  22. i would say something you will actually use, however if gpa needs a boost then Easy a!
