I just failed my exam, I needed an 80/100 got a 78 on the second post test. I felt like I out my all into that exam. Took me over two hours to complete. Can anyone lend some advice on taking the exam again?

I'm thinking of this school to complete my MSN degree. I love the payment plan option, the cost, and the length if the classes. Just wish I could connect with someone who's finished the MSN program.

Not sure if I understand your post, are you a BSN student now? You stated you're in your 4th semester, then wanting to enroll in a BSN program, which is it? I'm currently an MSN student, but chose to do my MSN at another school. WGU is a great program, I just prefer a different style, that includes a semester based format and a potential for a higher GPA.

Would love some feedback on this program. I currently have a BSN, I started a MSN program but the cost of the program is the issue. How much would going from BSN-MSN cost? How long is the program???

Just an update on this post, passed the exam and now able to use RN-BC as my credentials.

I worked at Brookdale for several years, it's not a bad place to work and gain loads of experience. I think if you really need a place to work and really want to advance your career this place is a great start. The incident that happened with the nurse was very unfortunate and could have happened anywhere. The patient did not show any signs of mental issues before discharge and therefore the incident was unforeseen. Currently, I've moved on in my career and am vey pleased with the experience I gained working at Brookdale. Like other places they do have their shortcomings but I owe a great deal of gratitude to the organization.

I haven't been able to find an online FB group. I would love to find one, at times I feel like I'm on my own.

Best decision I ever made except for the price.

I have two new graduates from Chamberlain who work on my floor. They both said they had no problems getting jobs once they obtained their BSN's.

I don't think it's worth the cost. It's far too expensive, and I don't think the support during the program is that great.

What kind of problems did you encounter?

I hated AP in school, I took API 2x. I took Microbiology 2x as well. Science and math never came easy to me, I just didn't get it. Try diagrams and with technology these days there is a whole lot of information that you could find. I also read those AP books made easy and found those somewhat helpful. I do hope you get over this bridge and move on to become a nurse, it's just a hurdle you have to deal with.

Hello all, I'm taking the Med-Surg certification exam in June and I really want to know if anyone has any advice for the exam that's current and up-to-date? I took a review course back in October through my employer and I earned CEU's through ANCC. The review was over three days and basically covered general body systems. We did a few questions that were much like NCLEX styled questions, should I use NCLEX books or what book do you recommend? I'm taking the exam for ANCC to be RN-BC and not the other to be CMSRN. I understand that both test are different the latter being easier. Thanks in advance.

Hello, You are probably here for research, not sure if I could tell you in a few words what you're looking for but as an EPIC end-user, BPA's work well when they aren't too many. At first, my organization started out with just a few and now we have so many that many nurses just click them all without even reading them first. Many of the BPA's that are generated when we do an admission are usually recommended for us to contact the physician to have them order so and so. Many nurse's and myself rarely get a chance to contact they physicians or sometimes when we do they say they will or never actually get it done. So, these alert's which are usually highlighted just sit there even past discharge. I'm not sure what they physicians screen look like or even if they have BPA's but they could care less. The BPA's that are targeting for nursing are usually the ones that are done, for example, care planning and teaching. Most often, these BPA's are generated based on an assessment or diagnosis. Most nurse's have to do this anyway so it often gets done and the BPA alert goes away.

I still work with LPNs in an acute care setting. They aren't allowed to do assessment but they do collect data, which is almost the same thing but an RN has to review their data. I use to be an LPN so I have no problems working with them, most of them on my floor work independently, some even work better than most RN's.

Jus let them know you won't be able to obtain these certifications before starting and that you can and will. Good Luck.

I'm a EC graduate and I'm so proud of my "real" degree, I'm a "real" RN and I just got a new job only three months in and never once was my school an issue. I'd also like to add I've also been put in charge of people who've had years of experience...."really".

To cut to the chase. We are all good nurses until we make that first mistake that gets noticed. I say noticed because many, many mistakes go unnoticed. Consider yourself a good nurse....for now.

I figured you were talking about WGU, it took me a little while to navigate their site, but it's not at all that bad. As far as the financial aid, you need to have at least twelve credits to be working on at a time to show full-time status. You can always go as fast as you want, SweettartRN just finished in 3 months.
