  1. Does working corrections make it difficult to get back into the hospital later? I'm considering working corrections as an agency nurse (as it pays well/better than hospital staff) in order to pay off debt faster. What do you think?

  3. Do the OR nurses administer blood/products? Or is that only the scrub nurses? thanks
  4. oh funny! My heart is warm but my body is sensitive to cold (unless I'm moving a lot)
  5. Would you recommend OR nursing? How's the future outlook? Do scrub and circulating RNs get paid differently? The reason I'm asking is because I'm considering a switch (I'm a rather new nurse who may have an opportunity to become a circulating RN). Thanks
  6. thanks - good suggestions!

  8. ER, ICU, OR? How about Med Surg - would it be easy for a nurse with 1 year of med surg experience to find a traveling position? Thanks.
  9. No, my school only took the top scores on the TEAS test.
  10. This is coming from a male - a male RN is probably not a good fit for L&D for many reasons - primarily it makes many women (and their significant others) uncomfortable. perhaps try NICU or peds.
  11. Additionally, sometimes people confuse Jehovah's Witnesses with other denominations (like "Christian Scientists") who just believe in prayers to heal everything. FYI - if a jehovah's witness comes to the hospital, they are seeking treatment. of course, JW do not believe in the use of blood for treatment (as it is against Bible principles regarding blood (Acts 15:28-29) but will accept alternative forms of treatment.
  12. Yes, sounds like a translation issue (clearly not a Jehovah Witness issue). Doesn't your ER have access to translators?
  13. you can find that info from informational interviews (which you have to do yourself)
  14. Agreed with Table for 9 - plus I personally don't think males should be in L&D. It makes most of the female patients (particularly their male counterparts) uncomfortable.
  15. best wishes with your career endeavors - you may need to do more research - informational interviews specifically. BTW, law - especially in front of a judge/jury can be extremely subjective despite the best evidence. . .
