I have spoken to some programs for admission and possibly one or two courses would apply. Don't ask me which at this point as I can not remember.

Kurus are super comfortable and have the big toe box and are made out of leather but with ties. I just find that there insoles wear out quickly but they enabled me to work the unit for my 12 hours shifts very comfortably and lower back pain and leg/foot pain free and energized. They have wide widths which work way better for my feet too.

Which online university accepts this and gives it credit towards a FNP program? I am hoping to choose a reputable, affordable program with great online capabilities. Anybody, have any experience related recommendations? Thank you in advance.

Getting critiqued as a new grad and working nurse is a continual process. If you get critiqued in time management and work on that then management may say you need to implement protocols in a more consistent manner. My point being is that I don't really think that either of your employers were going to fire you but were trying to guide you. I say short of anyone actually firing you, you can't forecast that upon yourself and then quit to avoid the possible eventuality of being let go. Don't quit on yourself and I am sure your employers won't quit on you either.

Hi, I am also considering a position as an outpatient oncology educator to patients ready to get treatment and surgeries. I currently work on a unit in the hospital. Does any one know the general salary for a registered nurse in a oncology specialty within an outpatient office? Thank you!

So, I'm confused on how to implement my employment tuition reimbursement with this program. I will be starting my RN-MSN in July. I have $5000 plus approved. But, it's in 6 month semesters right-so that brings me to December. Will I get a WGU class transcript of passing at the end of the 6 months so that I can submit to my job? Cause we take as many classes as we can within the 6 months right. I only get reimbursed if I pass. Has anyone done the process of getting employment reimbursed with this program? I don't want to lose this year's allotment in tuition reimbursement and I figure I should get a semester transcript in mid-December from WGU? Any input? I'm with HCA, by the way. thank you, for any feedback!

I'm in my forties, (late ) and still in the bridge LPN to RN ADN. Plugging away. We still have another 20 years to work! God willing....so it's worth the investment. I've only been a LPN for 4 years.

I love med-surg for the variety, challenge, and tasks to complete while engaging with staff, patients, family, all the while using my nursings skills and judgement and turning around and acheiving great outcomes! I love our students from different programs, new nurses coming to start their grand spanking new careers, and veterans leading the way with their vast experiences. I respect our doctors and I think my lead nurses are great! I have fun with my co-workers and look forward to each and every new shift. I love going home weary knowing that I did my best and that I know as well that my peers worked their shifts with passion too! No slackers in my department! Go for your RN! LPN will take as much time as your RN ADN, especially at the point you're at academically. I'm a LPN (brand new nurse) right now and I will continue to pursue my RN degree even though I still need my pre-reqs before I even get into the nursing program. Confidence will come and grow in either program. And you will be a RN by the time your child is in first grade. Just my two cents, good luck with any avenue you choose!:anpom:

Hi, I'm a LPN graduated Dec.07! Passed NCLEX-PN in April 08. Finally got my IV/Central Line Certification in Aug. Then nothing! I lost the med/surg position I was to get in May after my IV cert. Well, I took too long to accomplish my cert. and in the interim, they filled the position. But I persisted and I finally got my dream position (med/surg in a hospital setting) in October and start my orientation Monday. I can't wait to join the ranks of all of you and I can only hope that I carry my load and work really hard! But I'm very excited and grateful for this opportunity to learn and grow.

SweetPeaNurse, Everyone deals with stress differently so you may not neccessarily experience your test the same way. I felt a great need to express my experience as I could not relate to anyone else in my "non virtual world " like I could here. :) I did not freak out, until I was actually taking the test and actually working on the questions. I guess I dealt with pre-test jitters by just studying more. I studied alot...

hi, passing the test is part of the journey, now, i want to obtain a job! apply yourself to your studies and clinicals and that will be half the battle. i didn't find this thread until after i took the nclex test. i couldn't imagine stressing myself during school. so relax, and get back to class, lol. :prdnrs:

Urrrgh, I just wrote a really long post and lost it! Sorry. So to put it in a nutsell. Prepare, Prepare, Prepare! I used NCLEX-PN Questions & Answers made Incredibly Easy! I went through the whole book! yes (except one section-keep reading) and referred back to text books (to review & refresh) when I got a question wrong. I as well had the Saunder's review book and wished I had opened it more for the drug review. I think if I had to do it all over again, I would also do the Kaplan program and the nurse's board q & a? that I heard they have on their website? The one section in ... made Incredibly Easy, was supervision & management, (I didn't even glance at the questions) and of course I got hammered with priority and delegating questions... I think the type of questions I got in the beginning of school was more of a snap shot of the type of questions I should of prepared for and practiced more readily. That's why I would then, now, as well use Kaplan's as I heard they were very frustrating type, practice questions, and you want that practice! I had tons of SATA but I don't think anymore or less than those that took the NCLEX in March. But in school, they said we would just get one or two only, NOT! I got tons! I walked out of the testing area almost in tears as I started off the testing calm and took a deep breath, started answering questions...well, then, I found myself wrestling in the ring with a beast! and I told myself- just hold on... as I started to panic,... & when the screen went blank, my heart just came up to mouth, as I thought the challenge was stopped too soon and I was behind in points, and I didn't feel I knocked it out cold, know whatta I mean?.. Remember to know the nusing process and the why, Why you do a nursing action, what your patient teaching is, expect to know for drug side effects and actions. I think in my test I had more "overall picture type" questions {rather than anatomy, and cut and dried answers to disease process} and then presented in a SATA format... Questions that seemed should be so easy to me- the answers to choose from were so ambiguos! So my advice is to keep studying, (or you better start!, lol) to keep the odds in your favor.
