I could have chosen a lesser quality education, but I quit my job and found a schedule that works around my uni's.

I attend lab hours every week for insight into real world practice and scenarios. There is so much that needs to be learned that we need baseline knowledge prior to utilizing the expansive resources available online or through mobile devices.

Smart move! In the past, I have addressed the issue myself. Assessed student to determine factors r/t to foul odor (ie. refuse to shower, not wearing deodorant, parent refusing to wash clothes, etc.). Then, I notified the parent. It ends up with either, the parent is not sufficiently taking care of the child, or providing education re: healthy hygiene habits.

Your role in a IEP vs 504 is completely different. It requires more training than what is posted online. Seriously, though, advocate for yourself and acquire the necessary training. You've been given good advice in this thread.

The responses in this thread are terrifying. Follow physician orders. Not all students require carb coverage. If you have any concerns or input you should consult provider assuming you have a release.

Independent management orders exist and they're typically completed after demonstrated competence.

I think the take home message is that not all NP programs are made the same. Some want you to succeed, and some pump out degrees.

I do not stand anywhere near your experience, as I am a student in a FNP program. However, I will say the first day of clinical as a student RN I encountered a resident medication error. I cannot attest to anything else you've written. If you want to highlight who is making more serious and frequent errors, then it requires data to support the claim.

We have physical examination testing by faculty, and diagnostics skills testing.

Acquire overtime pay for certain days you show up to clear students.

My courses are conducted via the internet and require me to attend synchronous online classes at specific times. The classes are instructed by top professor from around the nation (upenn, hopkins, columbia). Online is the future, to an extent. Look at Yale with their PA program conducted online. Considering program requirements, the bar should be set higher. However, not all online NP programs are conducted the same. I am able to review lectures prior to my hosted classroom session. I come to lecture prepared to discuss content. Classroom may involve question and answer, group discussions, etc. completed through adobe connect or zoom. In person schools do not allow you to rewatch lectures unless you record it yourself. Online schools allow recording of lectures and course content. My uni also finds our preceptors based on strict standards. I feel the education I am acquiring will prepare me to be a great provider.

Assess the student. Is there a physiologic reason for the student being tired? Consider medication side effects or recent illness. Is the student being bullied? Is the student feeling depressed and looking for a private chat? Rule out everything else, then notify the parent. Host a parent conference inviting a teacher, counselor, social worker, and/or administrator.

Yeah, that program I linked is not direct NP route. It mentions in regards to acquiring post-masters FNP: "Post-Masters Family Nurse Practitioner Option WesternU College of Graduate Nursing graduates will be given first consideration when applying to the FNP program. Applicants will be required to have completed one year, full-time RN work experience."

I am attending a top uni in the US, and it is demanding. I resigned from my previous job to work part-time elsewhere to have a more flexible schedule. It is demanding, because how much you put into the program is what you get out of it. We have exams every other week or weekly in some cases. However, there are some online schools require you to post discussion board posts, write basic papers, and call it a day. So, it does depend what school you attend.
