I’m starting at MH with day shift $29.10 and night shift has a $4 differential pay

What units did they hire if you don’t mind me asking? And did you apply for the “clinical nurse residency” position or just a normal “clinical nurse” position? And did you happen to have connections to get a position at MDA? My application before COVID started was “under recruiter review” but because of COVID, they dismissed my application. I graduated this April and I remember sending my application on Feb/March.

Does anyone know when MDA will start opening up their residency program?

Does anyone know where I can apply for any infusion centers or home health other than Angels of Care that train new graduate/licensed nurses?

I would definitely go through Utmb again. The nursing program is difficult but they really build you up to prepare yourself for NCLEX that’s why we have a 99% pass rate. The professors are welcoming and care about students mental health and from what I heard uthealth or other schools don’t do that. Good luck!

I would wait until the email that NCSBN send you that you took the NCLEX and should wait 48 hrs for the official results. Good luck!

My school used ATI for helping us prepare for NCLEX. But I swear by UWorld and Mark Klimek Lectures that you can find online! I also had the prioritization, delegation LaCharity book as well as Saunders, but I believe UWorld and Mark Klimek is all you need to pass! Also, most people fail due to anxiety issues when they get to the exam, I would practice relaxation techniques while taking the test and don't cram for this exam. Good luck!

So it depends upon your situation and vision in nursing later down the road. I know most hospitals only hire BSN and won't even look at ADN unless they sign a contract saying they will take classes while working to achieve their BSN. And I went to go get my BSN, and the best students from my class were alot older and there were some that are 40+ and there's nothing wrong with that! at the end they all care about helping saving lives ?

Im a UTMB SON alumna that graduated Spring 2020, and I got accepted into UTMB with a 3.7 GPA from community college, and made the borderline acceptance passing rate for TEAS, and it is true that they look at personal statement the most. During my time, we had interviews but they cancelled that starting Fall 2019, so the only way they can get to know you is from your personal statement. Make sure to weave their vision, mission and values to your personal statement and you'll be good!

I'm a new grad Med-surg nurse! I was told by my preceptors that med-surg is great for time management and it is true that it will help us be more marketable, but ER is also a great way to start your career. I have had other nurses in my rotations tell me how ER is a great place to get your IV skills down, and you will be able to know which unit you want to do. I want to be an ICU nurse one day, but due to COVID, competition is high RN and hospitals are freezing their nurse residency programs, so I wish you good luck on finding the job that best fits you!

Hey! I learned in my leadership class to make sure you have 1-2 pages of resume since HR will not bother reading more than that. Since you were a nanny, I would include that in your "Work Experience" column, and tailor your "Objective" or first paragraph of your resume to the company's mission, vision and values and saying how it aligns with yours. Hello! I recently got my "conditionally accepted" letter from UTMB for Fall 2018! The deadline to respond is March 13 by midnight, and to reserve a seat, we have to pay $200 non-refundable deposit. However, what if I am waiting for my acceptance letter to another school (UTHealth)? I think I won't know if I got accepted to it until this summer! Can I get my $200 back if I choose UTHealth over UTMB? Does anyone have the same problem? Thank You!
