Process for Navy NCP

Hello im in the process of the Navy NCP. I have been selected but im waiting to be selected by the boards. I have a few questions.

1.What does this mean when you have been selected, but are awaiting selection by the boards.

2. Im in the process of learning how to swim. Is swimming a really big deal, can you be disqualified even if you have your license. Thank You.
