I am currently a pct at hospital. I am beginning to run into a problem with nurses and management. Some nurses are beginning to say/lie about me not doing my job like not answering call lights or wandering around leaving my unit. All of which is not true, because I try my best to answer all my call lights, but sometimes I get busy and I am stuck in a room with a patient. But the other nurses take it as I am hiding or avoiding call lights.
I also don't wander around the hospital, most of the time I barely get to take my lunch break. If I was truly doing all of this, I would not complain, but it pisses me off when I bust my ass off and get people saying lies about me. I am also very quiet and don't talk back or question nurses and just do my job, not sure why some nurses hate me.
We also have servers in the rooms that each pct is assigned to restock items in and I get blamed for not sticking even though I am part time. There are times where I may not even work for 4-5 days so its bound to be empty, but they still blame me. I try explaining but they say its an excuse.
What should I do now? I am trying to look for a way out, but that would take some time. I don't want to get fired because I have been here for almost a year and I will have to explain this to my new employer.
My manager also is siding with the nurses so me explaining what is going on is a waste of time.
