I also live in Nor Cal. What schools were you planning on applying to?
I recently applied to CCSF and to my surprise I made it on the standby list as #16 in their lottery, so my chances of getting a seat in their ADN program is pretty good.
My plan was to keep applying to ADN and ABSN and direct entry MSN programs all over Nor Cal until I got in. And If I didn't get in within the first 2 years, my back up plan was to just go for a 1-year LVN program and bridge.
Would the LVN program you are looking at be only 1-year too? If so, I wouldn't rule it out. 1-year isn't bad and then you can bridge right after or start working a lot sooner. I think a lot of nurses enter the field with this route. And if you are passionate about nursing then go for it.
But if possible I would keep applying to the other schools, you never know you just might be accepted. And some schools like CCSF are based on a lottery system, not points. So there is definitely a chance!

I made a post a while ago about how I'm struggling in physiology. Ii thought that if i got all As in the rest of the three tests, lab journal and research paper id still be able to make a B. Well i know i didnt get an A on that test. I didnt think i did bad but driving home after the test i realized how wrong some of the answers i put. For ex, their was a simple question sonething about heart block, i automatically put SA node when i should of put AV. I just saw heart and put sa node ugh. And one of the essay questions about b cell activation i totally screwed up on : (((( and the worst part i know most of the steps i just didnt write it uggghhh!!!
Anyways if i manage a C in this class, i still have to take micro, i got a B in anatomy and As in all the rest i know nursing program is hard to get into. A B makes you a whole lot less competitive. A C is like forget about it : ( the CC i go to is point based but really hard to get into. I'm takin a cna class over the summer for extra points, but that c in physio will kill me...
So should i A) apply to my school psch tech program instead of nursing in fall (you have to have all prereqs conpleted at my school to apply and i dare not take micro in summer. I'm a single mom to a young baby and have a hard time studying as it is. Summer school usually has a test everyday. Cant risk doing bad), 2) find a lvn program and eventually bridge 3) keep trying for adn or bsn
No matter what IM going to be a nurse. But as i said im a single mom and time isnt on my tine. Do you think i have a chance if gettinf into a school around here. Or should i do something else (psych tech, lvn) and eventually bridge or apply with some healthcare experience.,i forgot to add my school you can on retake one science class or 5 points is deducted.
