Private Schools

Happy Holidays to all. I thought I would post this question to my fellow nurses, esp all those who live in FLorida.

Are private schools better for primary education - or is the public school system the way to go in Florida. ANy opinions would be helpful - my husband and I are going back and forth on this issue, and most of the nurses I work with have their kids in private school. Thanks.

Um, depends on where you live. I went to school in Florida and was happy with the schools there. Everyone always told me the schools were better up north. That hasn't been my experience. I live in Michigan now and my kids are in private school. After my 10 (then 9) year old child who was reading on a 1st grade level and you couldn't read what he wrote and that and they actually wanted to promote him to the 5th grade! I pulled them out. I love the school my kids are in now. But, I have also seen some really great public schools so it is hard to say.
